our process
Live Action
-
Pre-production
Kickoff. We ask questions about your mission, your product, who your audience is, and what you’re hoping to accomplish.
Brainstorming. We explore different approaches and styles based on your needs, and recommend the best way to communicate your message effectively. This can include creative treatments with mood boards, style samples, sizzle reels, etc.
Scripting. We develop a script—or work with yours—and ensure that it accomplishes your goals and lends itself well to visual storytelling. If it’s interview-driven, we plan questions that will support the narrative.
Logistics. We work out all the details leading up to the recording day(s).
-
Production
Arrival. Our team will pack up and come out to the recording location with full crew and gear, or will prepare the space if the video is being recorded at our studio.
Recording. We capture video and audio according to the plans established in the pre- production phase.
Transfer. We run digital image transfer on-site or off-site to back everything up and prepare for post-production.
-
Post-Production
Editing. We work with what we captured along with additional footage or imagery to craft a narrative in-line with the script or outline discussed in pre-production.
Mixing/Mastering. We work with the audio we captured to mix levels and add or create sound effects/music where appropriate.
Graphics/Illustrations. We create all of the graphic elements for the video and animate them to integrate with the other content.
Revisions. Revisions are based on the collaborative conversation that follows from your notes and our interpretation.
-
Delivery
Licensing. We license any third party content (images, music) used in the product.
Rendering. We create high quality files appropriate to the final usage and display.
Quality check. We watch through the content to ensure everything rendered properly and there are no errors in your final file.
Upload. We deliver the file to the location of your choice, and can also upload directly to your video platform if you prefer.
Storage. We keep all our footage, project files and deliverables on our servers and cloud in case you want to revisit anything later.

Storyboard & Pre-Vis
Storyboarding. We work through the script to illustrate and describe what will happen scene-by-scene.
Designing. We take the sketches from the storyboard stage and render them according to the graphic style approved in pre-production.
Assembly/Pre-vis. Before we go into animation, we create a pre-visualization (pre-vis). This shows the final art timed to any audio/video components for pacing approval.
-
Animation & Sound
Animation. We bring the graphics to life with motion graphics and animation.
Sound design. We add sound effects for elements within each scene to create more realism and texture.
Music. We time out music to the animation and make adjustments to length and timing where necessary.
Revisions. We make adjustments based on the collaborative conversation that follows from your feedback and our interpretation.
